The selection here isn’t that great which is why it’s on the lower part of the list. But if you like some place that isn’t crowded you should try this place out. The people who go to this place are mostly tourists. Typically the guests at this Soapy Massage here are from other counties in Thailand and not necessarily for locals or Farang. Similar to the Phucome Hotel but even less girls the Chiang Mai Hills hotel is a nice establishment, view pictures
I went to the Ping Payom Hotel today and found the directions given here to be inaccurate. First, the gate referred to is Suan Dok; the road is Suthep Road (1005), which is the same road where Maharaj Hospital is found, on the right hand side of the street . It is not a long way past the hospital. The best sign for the intersection is on the right hand side of the road and you can’t miss it: Large, black with raised white letters “Chiangmai University Art Center”.
Before you reach the intersection, on the left is a prominent sign “Bikky” so you’ll know you’re VERY close.
The hotel is not on the corner, it is under an arch to the left, on the soi that intersects into Suthep Road, and in the front, attached to the hotel is an office with a nice blue sign, “The Terminal Journey, Travel Agency”. There is, as he stated, no English to tell you this is a hotel, and there was no sign offering rooms at 250 baht, but this is high season and probably not needed!
I arrived at 1:30 pm, walked under the arch and found the massage building in the parking lot to the right hand side. Went up to the second floor and was offered a 2 hour Thai massage for 450 baht and 1.5 hour oil massage for 600. Evidently I was at least 30 minutes too early – I was ushered into a room and left with the standard Thai massage outfit to change into. When I asked if I got to choose the lady, I was just given a scowl. When the young lady who was to give me a Thai massage came, I asked her about the soapy….she asked if I wanted a young lady and a special massage, and then told me that didn’t begin until 2 pm. I’d already paid for the Thai, it was good, and I was offered something special…was really clean so I’ll go back again next week later in the day. Took photos of the outside of the hotel, Art Center sign.
Thanks for the comment Bob, the pin on the map is accurate and maybe my directions were cryptic so glad you can help us out. You got there too early! If you go about 6:30pm is good that’s when all the girls are working.
So that I don’t add more confusion, I went to the wrong place! The soapy is in the back of the hotel building and I went to a separate building that offers massage; confusion, old age. Go into the parking lot as described and look to the rear of the hotel building itself. Made another trip and worthwhile; much nicer looking beauty than any of the selection I saw in Sayuri.
curious what price you paid?
I took a trip to ping payom tonight. Sadly I neglected to rent a motorbike and my tuk-tuk was pretty much useless. To avoid the commission I got out at Chiang Mai University (when I first went there in September ’11 I remembered a black sign saying Chiang Mai University Art something). Long story short it was a long and confusing walk to get there. Anyone else without their own transportation should get dropped off at the Pharma Choice on Suthrep Rd, it is a short walk from there.
Once there I walked in and went to the fishbowl looking for the same girl as before, #17. On advice from another forum I avoided speaking to the captain except to tell him in thai the number of the girl. I could not remember the pricing system and handed over 1500 (I think that she was probably in the 1200 section, the middle). I did not complain over the amount because I should have practiced saying “1200 baht, correct” in thai before going (I’m fairly comfortable with saying thai numbers but froze on the spot). I’m not sure why but the cashier was mute the whole time, I actually waited for her to give me a price for the girl and I have no idea how to ask for change in thai. I cannot remember what I paid in September but I do recall the cashier showing me the amount on a calculator.
Just like last time she was a star performer. The only downside is that my thai is as limited as her english so before and after the deed tends to be filled with awkward smiles.
If I get back to Chiang Mai or stay a couple of extra days and she is working I will pick her again; however, if her performance is indicative of the rest I highly recommend ping payom. On another note I saw many beautiful girls in the fishbowl even though it was not overstocked (my guess is less than 30). There seemed to be a good mix of ages and skin complexion (I know some guys are pretty particular).
Is it okay to see these girls off the clock or take them away? To kill time I asked to see her phone (for the photos) which caused a bit of confusion and I think she was going to give me her phone number. I know similar places in Vietnam don’t like the girls to see customers off the clock, but you can call/text them to make sure they are free at certain times.
Great report man thanks the girls do go after hours but only if they like you
